Mounting tips:
Mounting brackets and screws are included, but you may want to use other items to secure it depending on the surface it is attaching to. Standard fishing reel wire is great for wrapping the outdoor LED strip under metal railings, small horizontal poles, etc. (where the mounting screws can't be used). It also lays flat well above cabinets etc. where very little securing is needed.
These strips are ideal for lighting up aquariums since they are a wet environment. Outdoor kits are not meant to be submersed underwater.
- The strips cannot actually be physically connected and run off 1 power. However, they can appear to be 1 strip by laying them end to end to achieve a longer strip (repeated several times can make your light as long as you want).
- A wall switch can also power them on and off and they will show the last color/function.
- LED strip is wrapped in a silicone sheath. You can cut the strip every 3 diodes at the joint (see forum for picture of joint). Cutting to size is not necessary or recommended if you can avoid it by hiding the extra length by wrapping it back carefully or putting black tape over it etc.

Please reattach end cap and reseal with silicone gel for waterproofing once cut. It is easy to cut with scissors, no special tools needed. You cannot reattach the strip once cut without soldering (for electricians/professionals only). - These strips can get wet, the controller and power portion is not meant to get wet but can be in a wet environment like outside.
- Be sure when you plug these outdoor kits in that the the notch on the male jack lines up with the indent on the female jack so it locks in properly so the power flows and it is moisture tight. This is easy to do, but easy to overlook.
- The outdoor remote is not compatible with the indoor kit remotes. It is compatible with other outdoor kits though. Each kit comes with its own remote and power even if you buy multiple kits.
- The controller needs to be carefully plugged into the LED strip while matching the male notch inside the connector to the female notch on the opposite connector, otherwise it won't turn on. Then you screw the cap over this connection to make it moisture resistant.
- 200lm (lumens) per meter (measured when white light on).
